For once, a post not about the stock market…
I have not found great responses to my (albeit limited) marketing efforts the past few months.. and in addition to very average salesmanship, I’m getting a sinking suspicion why.
A recent survey revealing many affluent investors’ lack of knowledge and interest — and also perception of risk — clearly shows the headwind Teewinot faces in marketing our Absolute Return account directly to individuals. The Eskimos don’t want any ice, even if the polar caps really are melting. I must locate those who both appreciate risk management and also can trust a manager with only 9 months’ official track record.
Because I’m a money manager by trade rather than a personal financial consultant, it’s extremely exciting that Elizabeth wants to take on the wealth management business for Teewinot. There is a huge chunk of the investment world that doesn’t just involve buying low & selling high.. and she will be great at it. Down the road we will absolutely end up in Carson’s line of work — in addition to managing hedge fund-style Absolute Return accounts, of course.
