Gobbledy-gook

Excerpted from a Reuters article (not recent, but it doesn’t matter):

“Gross-domestic-product data released Thursday showed that economic growth in the 12 eurozone countries slowed to a 0.3% annual pace in the second quarter from the first, but an export-led rebound seems to be under way. Economists are paying close attention to a bounce in industrial […]

We All Grows Up

At Pazzo’s a few weeks ago for Monday Night Football, I ran into Kris Betz .. one of my absolute best friends growing up. A sick soccer player back in the day, Kris now runs a hotel / B&B on the northwest coast of Costa Rica. Sueno Del Mar is the hotel. The […]

What a Woman

We had some good times last Friday night.. Karl, Randall, Jeff & I watched UK whip Duke in a midnight hockey game at the Lexington Ice Center. Randall - memorably - referred to the quality of play as “bar league.”
Skipping forward, we later met up with Ross.. who promptly ordered Grand Marnier shots. More than […]

Opportunity Always Knocks

Though still a newbie by many standards, I’ve been around this game long enough to see how many huge movers there are every single day in the stock market.
These 1-day movers not only make a 4% annual fixed-income yield look ridiculous.. they illustrate how much movement is available to trade in my line of work. […]

NFL Spread Betting

Scoring +$600 this week, I am stoked (and lucky) to maintain my lead in our competition for 3 weeks now! Randall & Guty keeping things close though, so I can’t slip up.
Thru yesterday’s games (Week 11), we have each had to bet “$1000″ per week.. here are the cumulative standings:
[…]

More Hokie Bashing

Am I bitter or what? Truth be told, the Bengals’ loss hurts worse than the Wahoos’ destruction. Again, thanks to the haters on TheSabre.com message boards for these doozies.
It’s a free country.. We all have choices:
You can go to Va Tech… OR.. you can take the “Smart Road”…

Goodness.. Hokies can’t even spell […]

Slacking Off and a Nice Surprise

Well I failed to get much work done on TradeStation this weekend. Simply had too much fun! We won’t discuss the Colts/Bengals game here.
Having slacked off for a few days, I still have not figured out how to code my Stochastic system — for shorter term trades — into TradeStation’s “Easy Language.” My friend (and […]

Long Term Positions Paying Now

I like these numbers in the Long Term portfolio.. on a day when the Dow is only up 36 points and the Nazz is down slightly.
Today I’ve sold 1/2 of TV, added to EXPE, and am bidding for more AIN.
Long all of the above

Damn Hokies

In the wee hours last Saturday morning, some Virginia Tech folk snuck into our stadium and painted a “T” next to our “V” logo at midfield.
Unfortunately this desecration did not effectively motivate the Cavalier squad, as we got pounded by Marcus Vick’s Hokies, 52-14.
These events most certainly did have an effect on yours truly. […]

Stampede Continues

Although trading was much quieter than Thursday’s frenetic pace, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite each hit 52-week highs today.
Transports, Tech, & Financials were leaders to the upside. Gold stocks took a breather from their recent spike, and the Oils were mostly stagnant.
While there are likely better opportunities in other sectors, I should note that […]
